Service Description

Now that you know how to operate a sewing machine, you need to start building your basic sewing knowledge. Depending on your goals and the types of sewing skills you hope to master, weekly and regular guided sewing sessions will help you learn quickly and build your confidence. With time, sewing will become second nature, as you use the sewing machine to create gift, decor, and accessory projects like the ones offered in this section. The classes listed here are selected for their ability to challenge and reward you without overwhelming and discouraging you. Students completing projects in this section can expect to attain and master skills such as: -creating basic sewing seams -finishing seam allowances -the importance of ironing and steaming to the sewing process -how to finish a simple hem by hand or by machine -and much more… Additionally, many beginner students find it difficult to take notes because it takes time to understand and then notate the steps and the sewing terminology involved. So many of the prescribed projects are collected from published books, that students may purchase independently, if they so desire. Thus providing opportunities for students to make the projects in class and then have a printed guide to make sense of what they learned on their own. As always if you have questions or suggestions you can contact the studio at inkandycence@gmail.com, we will be happy to assist with answers and consultation. Best Wishes & Straight Stitches, InKandycence
