Pattern Layout, Pinning, and Cutting

Service Description

Class Details, What you will learn: Learn the basics of sewing a beginner sewing project using the cutting, pinning, and ironing using the tools and sewing skills you have learned so far in the Beginner Sewing Course. Students will be introduced to a basic commercial sewing and practice laying out, pinning, and cutting on the grain. As well as getting an introduction to reading and understanding pattern instructions. Students need the skills they practice in this class to successfully participate in any future Design Academy sewing classes. If a student feels they are already skilled enough to skip this class they may elect to "opt out" of this class and move on to next class in the Beginner level sewing classes. However instructor approval is required. Skill Level: Beginner 1- assumes student is ready to perform basic sewing skills and can proficiently ready and employ a basic home sewing machine. Class Fee: Price includes all needed materials as well as use of sewing machine and related tools. Student is encouraged to bring pen and paper to take notes. Class Length: Class is 1 session for 2 hours. Supplies are not required for this class. Everything needed to complete the lesson is provided during the class, though student is encouraged to bring a pencil and paper to take notes during the class. Student who has their own machine may also bring their machine and instructions to class and they may practice performing these skills on their own sewing machine in class as well.
