Beautiful Block Placemat
Set a stylish table with these creative and easy placemats
Service Description
If you have a lot of random fabric remnants, this is a perfect use for them. All straight stitching, this is a chance for beginners to really express their creativity by putting together a unique patchwork of fabrics. Students will be introduced to using a rotary cutter and ruler, as they prepare their “mini blocks”. Then students will piece them together to form a stylish kaleidoscope fabric piece from which the final placemat facing will be cut. Students will also learn to make their own binding and how to use topstitching to “quilt” their facing and backing together. Skill Level: New Beginner - Should know how to operate sewing machine, including threading the machine, winding the bobbin, and pushing the foot pedal. Our “Introduction to the Sewing Machine” Class is strongly recommended. Class Fee: Price includes the class and use of sewing machine and related tools. Student provides all of the required project supplies. A supply list will be provided once you sign up for the class. Class Length: Class is 90 mins per session. More than one session may be required to finish this project. How many sessions are needed depends largely on the skill and speed of the student(s).
