Updated: Feb 10, 2022

Are you ready to make the Travel Sewing Kit?
If you haven’t already done so, be sure to sign up for the class by visiting www.inkandycence.com/book-online and selecting this class from the class menu (found under the Youth Sewing Category)
This is a great project for using scraps so before you buy something new, check your existing fabric and craft stash.
The following is a list of supplies you will need to bring to complete the project for this class:
Felt scraps for the Bird’s Beak, Heart-wing, and pin holder
2- 7 x 10 inch squares of felt OR ¼ yd of felt on the bolt. This will be the body of the Sewing Kit, so pick a color you like (*If you have extra felt from the Puppy Placemat project this is a good use of that)
1- skein of size 6 DMC embroidery floss- for bird legs
1- skein of size 6 DMC floss- for contrast color and border (*optional- you can use the same skein from above if you don’t desire a contrast color)
1- fat quarter in a coordinating fabric - to make large pocket and bird body
1-fat quarter in a contrasting fabric or a scrap remnant 2.5” x 2”- to make small pockets (*optional- you can use the same fat quarter from above if you don’t desire contrast fabric
2- 10”pieces of ½ wide ribbon.
Once the sewing kit is done you can buy a small pair of scissors and other supplies to fill the travel kit with things you need to sew on the go.
